Why do they Hate Islam without Knowing It?

Even When They Don’t Know It?

They’ve never opened a Qur’an.
Never spoken to a real Muslim.
Never studied the life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
But somehow… they “know” that Islam is violent. Oppressive. Evil.
Somehow… they’re sure that all Muslims are the same.
That Islam is the problem, not the media, not politics, not the ignorance.
Just… Islam.

But where did they learn that?

Was it a viral clip with no context?
A news segment after a tragic event?
A headline designed to spark fear, not truth?

Because when you actually look, the story is very different.

Islam the faith of peace literally means “submission and peace.”
Its greeting is peace: “As-salamu alaykum” (peace be upon you).
Its core message? Worship the One true God, do good, speak truth, show mercy, and prepare for the eternal life after this one.

So… why the hate?

Maybe it’s fear.
Maybe it’s ignorance.
Maybe it’s the comfort of having someone to blame.

Or maybe it’s because truth makes people uncomfortable.
Because Islam doesn’t just sit quietly.
It questions false gods. It challenges ego.
It calls out injustice, even if it’s against yourself.
It demands sincerity in a world built on appearances.
It reminds you: this life isn’t forever. And we will be held accountable.

And that… is a message many don’t want to hear.

So instead of facing it, they attack it.
Instead of learning, they label.
Instead of reflecting, they reject.

Just like the people of the past.

“…No messenger ever came to them without being mocked.”
— Qur’an 36:30

They called Prophet’s madmen.
They mocked their message.
They lied about them, drove them out, and tried to silence the truth.

And yet, the truth endured.
Because it doesn’t need numbers or power to be valid.
It just needs to be spoken.

“But what about the violence?”

A fair question, if you’re asking sincerely.
But if you’re only looking for faults, you’ll never see the full picture.

Yes, some commit crimes and falsely claim Islam.
But does a criminal speak for 2 billion people?
Does one act erase 1400 years of mercy, knowledge, justice, and beauty?

Because if that’s the standard, no people or faith is safe.
History is full of violence, and many flags have flown over bloodshed.
But we don’t judge entire nations, races, or religions that way…
Except, it seems, when it comes to Islam.

Why?

Maybe because Islam is the last message.
Maybe because deep down, they know it holds truth.
Maybe because if it’s true, then they’ll be accountable too.

“They wish to extinguish Allah’s light with their mouths, but Allah will ˹certainly˺ perfect His light, even to the dismay of the disbelievers.”
— Qur’an 61:8

“But Muslims hate others too…”

Islam doesn’t teach that.
What some people do in ignorance, pain, or reaction… isn’t Islam.
Islam teaches justice, even with enemies.

“Do not let the hatred of a people lead you to injustice. Be just! That is closer to righteousness. And be mindful of Allah.”
— Qur’an 5:8

It teaches us to respond to ignorance with dignity:

“The ˹true˺ servants of the Most Compassionate are those who walk on the earth humbly, and when the foolish address them ˹improperly˺, they only respond with peace.”
— Qur’an 25:63

And to always return to truth, not anger:

“Good and evil cannot be equal. Respond ˹to evil˺ with what is best, then the one you are in a feud with will be like a close friend.”
— Qur’an 41:34

You Hate what you Don’t Know

Before you condemn Islam…
Have you read even one chapter of the Qur’an?
Have you looked at the life of the Prophet ﷺ , not in headlines, but from real sources?
Have you spoken to Muslims who live their faith, instead of those cherry-picked for shock value?

Because if you did… you might find something you never expected.

Not terrorism.
Not darkness.
Not hate.

But clarity.
Mercy.
Purpose.
Peace.

“O humanity! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may ˹get to˺ know one another. Surely the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous among you. Allah is truly All-Knowing, All-Aware.”
— Qur’an 49:13

Why Islam?

Because it speaks the truth even when it’s unpopular.
Because it teaches you to love your Creator more than your ego.
Because it calls you to justice, purity, worship, and peace.
Because it still stands — unchanged — after 1400 years of attack.

And because deep down, when the noise settles,
When the lies unravel,
When the heart aches for something real…

You’ll know:
This hate wasn’t really about Islam.
It was about what Islam exposed in you.

“Surely the disbelievers spend their wealth to hinder others from the Path of Allah. They will continue to spend to the point of regret. Then they will be defeated and the disbelievers will be driven into Hell,”
— Qur’an 8:36

Islam doesn’t fear the hate.
It was built to endure it.
It came to break the lies, not bow to them.

And if you’re still reading, maybe… just maybe…
It’s because part of you knows that truth can’t be silenced.

Not by media.
Not by lies.
Not by hate.

A final message, not from us, but from your Creator:

“And say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “˹This is˺ the truth from your Lord. Whoever wills let them believe, and whoever wills let them disbelieve.”
— Qur’an 18:29

But know this:

Truth doesn’t change just because you deny it.
And one day… we’ll all stand before the One who sent it.

“Every soul will taste death, then to Us you will ˹all˺ be returned.”
— Qur’an 29:57
